  1. Best Buy offered free shipping for me in the US, but Ledger wanted to charge $20, so I went with Best Buy and received a legitimate product with very fast shipping.

  2. Buy hardware wallets from manufacture websites. Sure, other places can be safe even if they are authorized dealers, but the product passes through more hands than it needs to. No reason to not just buy direct.

  3. I used to work at Best Buy. They do open box stuff (items that were purchased, and returned and put back on the shelf at a cheaper price). DO NOT BUY A LEGDER OPEN BOX IF THEY SELL THEM. I no longer work there and don’t know if these go open box after being returned. Maybe someone can clarify. AGAIN DO NOT BUY A LEDGER OPEN BOX. Always buy new!

  4. Have a feeling next mega crisis will be about compromised Ledger devices, all of them.

FFS, learn true Bitcoin protocol, get an open source wallet like Electrum and make a 2/2 multisig wallet for eternal security, whereby the multisig function offers true two-factor authorisation.
