I made a decision to take a break from the media and gadgets for a month. I used to be only recently made aware of what went down with FTX. I had all my doge in there :( this was taken Oct.31. I had purchased a complete of 5k doge after I took this. If doge reaches $1+ now and I can’t get my cash again ima cry

  1. And this is why…

    1. You NEVER treat an exchange like a bank. Get your coins out and into wallets you actually own, where someone else can’t steal them.

    2. You don’t ever walk away and ignore things, because they can and do change spectacularly.

    3. You don’t cry if you ignore #1 and #2.

  2. I’m not here to criticize anyone but that’s a lessons to be learned here. I’m new to crypto and really loved Doge and still believe in this is a very if not the most relevant of all meme coins out there. What I’ve learned is that never ever trust the middle man to hold your coins. Just invest some more in a hardware, cold wallet and that’s it.
I’m really sorry to what happened to you brother and you’re not alone and others may have lost even more that that.

  3. I am sorry for your loss.

I have mine stuck in Celsius and BlockFi. And yes, I should have learned my lesson with Celsius.

Question to the group. Is Exodus any better or shall I move my coins to a Ledger?

  4. If it’s on an app you don’t own any doge. You own an IOU for the exchange to give you actual doge when you decide to take it off the exchange and into a cold wallet.

I’d you care about your crypto keep it in a cold wallet.

  5. The good news is it’s only $700 – that is one new gaming console and some games, or a new mid-range laptop.

Or a really expensive weekend with friends.

Unless $700 is a good portion of your yearly income, you didn’t loose much.

  6. I moved over 20k (avg .002) doge to my ledger as soon as RH enabled crypto transfers. Lost 20k USDC to Celsius, APY greed!! Too good to be true, lesson learned, moving on. We’ll see if my Celsius “claims” will get my money back come January… 🙁
