Is Running a Node Necessary for Maintaining Anonymity with Non-KYC Bitcoin?

When it comes to Bitcoin, anonymity is a major concern for many users. With the increasing popularity of cryptocurrency, governments and financial institutions are beginning to take a closer look at how Bitcoin is used and who is using it. As a result, many users are looking for ways to keep their Bitcoin transactions anonymous.

One of the most popular methods for keeping Bitcoin transactions anonymous is to use a non-KYC (Know Your Customer) Bitcoin wallet. Non-KYC wallets are wallets that do not require users to provide any personal information or identification in order to use them. This makes them ideal for users who want to keep their Bitcoin transactions anonymous.

But do you need to run a node in order to keep non-KYC Bitcoin transactions anonymous? The answer is no. While running a node can help to increase the privacy of your Bitcoin transactions, it is not necessary in order to keep them anonymous.

Non-KYC wallets are designed to keep your Bitcoin transactions anonymous by not requiring any personal information or identification. This means that your Bitcoin transactions will remain anonymous even if you do not run a node.

However, running a node can help to increase the privacy of your Bitcoin transactions. By running a node, you are helping to secure the Bitcoin network and make it more difficult for third parties to track your transactions.

In conclusion, you do not need to run a node in order to keep non-KYC Bitcoin transactions anonymous. However, running a node can help to increase the privacy of your Bitcoin transactions.

  1. In your example your UTXO will be linked to your ISP and fully visible to Trezor. They can make a note of it.

With your own node your UTXO would be broadcast but it would be unknown if you initiated it or it was just a rebroadcast

  2. Depends how far the government wants to take enforcement. People who buy KYC are the majority and they will go after the low hanging fruit before you. It is very hard to completely eliminate all vectors to being identified. I wouldn’t worry about it to much. That being said running your own node is great for privacy and making sure you don’t trust, but verify for yourself, the Bitcoin you hold.

  3. I tried connecting my trezor to my node but trezor suite ran really slow. I know it’s best practice to connect to my node but it’s simply too impractical for me.
