I’m curious to hear what other people think about the timing of Bitcoin’s release, in the midst of the 2008 financial crisis. It seems like an interesting coincidence that the world’s first decentralized digital currency was released at a time when the global economy was in turmoil. Do you think the timing of Bitcoin’s release was intentional, or just a coincidence? What do you think the implications of this are for the future of cryptocurrency?
Btc was designed in response to the 2008 fallout, the creator made direct reference to the banks failing.
Timing doesn’t really matter as it wasn’t even well accepted as a form of currency until recently
2008 crisis – Bitcoin was born.
2022-23 crisis – Bitcoin showed why you can’t trust governments and why crypto is important asset to have.
Halvings do copy US presidential elections though and I think BTC creator(s) had US citizenship.
Satoshi was certainly a visionary and BTC was released in the perfect time
The real test is how BTC performs during a serious recession
So finally something good came out of financial crisis ?
*The Times 03/Jan/ 2009 Chancellor on Brink of Second Bailout for Banks*
It’s highly fascinating, the trust in BTC keeps increasing, while the trust in the banking system decreased since 2008.
₿ > 🏦
The concept and development must have started during the peak economic boom of the 2000’s, but the product was made in preparation for the upcoming financial crysis. Satoshi truly was a visionary well ahead of his time.
Smells of copypasta.
Born in the darkness, but grew up in the spotlights.
We are all looking at the same tree and missing the Forrest
Bitcoin has faced the biggest crisis after 2008 and is still trading above TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND USD.
If this isn’t success I don’t know what is.
Bitcoin: Satoshi’s revenge on the financial system.
Bitcoin was created because Satoshi saw the 2008 crash coming
BTC has faced many crisis and obstacles through the years, even now there is a financial and economic crisis, war etc but BTC can’t be stopped
It’s just legendary how Satoshi made us wonder and speculate.

It’s a really interesting thought, and unfortunately I think that although the popular opinion may be that crypto will do well in such a case because it’s fundamentally not correlated, if there is a downturn or even a full fledged ‘crash’ it is likely to be similar to the way it has been in the past. Gold will become an attractive asset purely because it is gold, then commodities and so on. But i imagine that in a economic crisis it would just amplify that downturn volatility…people have to pay for food, but that doesn’t mean it won’t recover like it has a lot of time in the past.
Satoshi Nakomato had developed this revolutionary technology. He was waiting for a good launch opportunity which Global Financial Crisis provided
All hail Satoshi!
Bitcoin is the light at the end of the financial tunnel
Honestly Satoshi was a revolutionary, it takes a very special mind to be able to design something that could replace fiat.
Didn’t he leave a message on chain?
Specifically calling out the crisis…
Thing is tho it’s not like he just knocked it out overnight. He must’ve been working on it for quite some time.
>has led many to speculate that Satoshi Nakamoto was influenced by the crisis when creating Bitcoin.
Are you serious? Satoshi said himself that all this is the motivation behind Bitcoin. I think this post needs comedy flair.
Bitcoins creation was 100% influenced by the 2008 financial crisis.
